The Shopping List: steel cut oats, pears, sliced almonds
In a large sauce pan, melt
3 tablespoons butter
Add:
1 1/2 cups steel cut oats
Stir constantly until lightly toasted and fragrant
Remove from heat and add:
6 3/4 cups boiling water
1/4 teaspoon salt
Cover and let sit overnight.
In the morning, heat over low heat for about 20 minutes until all the liquid is absorbed.
Pear Topping
Peel and slice:
5 or 6 pears
In a skillet, melt:
3 tablespoons butter
Add:
Pears
2 tablespoons honey
Top oatmeal with pears and sliced almonds (optional)
